Hey all you wonderful Glimmer readers. It’s time to announce the inevitable! Arabian Glimmer is going into hibernation mode for a while. My priorities and life have shifted immensely and I won’t have regular access to the Internet.

Glimmer will stay online and stay published and I will be happy to use it as a sounding board and/or update it as I can. If you have something you wish to share and publish on the blog, feel free to contact me and when I have a chance I’ll respond to your submission.

Wishing you all well and thanks so much for sticking with the blog. This has always been something I do for fun and for the enjoyment of discovering all sorts of wonderful Arabian horses.

    Video: Dar Al Azim

    Just stumbled upon this nice video footage of a Straight Egyptian stallion.  Might I say his particularly well built.  I hope to see more of him in the coming years.

      Great trail and endurance mare for sale

      Pinnacle Princess

      I just know there are going to be some readers who will really appreciate this mare, Pinnacle Princess.  The 7 year old bay mare is petite 14.1hh and is described as a “blast” to ride.

      Princess is the horse you buy when you just want to hit the trails and enjoy yourself.  She’s calm, has a forward, rhythmic trot; revving up and slowing down as you cue.  The ad also mentions that she’s owned by an equine vet, so she’s in good standing with all of her necessary shots and vaccines.

      I really enjoyed checking out all of her photos.  She looks strong, willing, bright and aware.  Her body conformation is strong and athletic.  Her head is shapely with large curious eyes and nice ears and a petite muzzle.  You’ll be able to see her in motion as there is a video of her, and it’s mighty impressive.

      Princess isn’t registered but can be, and I’d recommend it because I think someday in the future, she should be a mommy.  She has an outstanding pedigree powerhouse of athletes.  Within an mere 3 generations, she carries Xenohponn, Gay Apollo++, Gondolier, and Ariston.  Obviously, there are also fantastic mares in that pedigree, too.

      This mare is a fabulous deal and I highly recommend her to the light weight rider who wants a really fun ride (and a best friend).

        Al Lahab daughter for sale

        Al Lahab is one of those highly exotic stallions that the world likes to pine over, just a little. He’s gorgeous, expressive and it doesn’t hurt that he’s Straight Egyptian, either.

        This mare, My Taliq, is a exotic and also Straight Egyptian.  She has a very “chiseled” head, kind dark eyes, and is very feminine.  You will see in the list of photos that she’s also rather easy to handle and looks quite “kissable”.  I really do want to kiss that muzzle.

        It’s hard to get a clear shot of her body, but I do think her neck is a bit on the short side. Being that she looks like a “tight fitting” Egyptian, with all sections very tightly connected together, her neck will probably blend well.  She looks lovely.

        Taliq stands just 14.2hh (I like that), is going on 7 and has never been bred.  She’s in the prime of life and should make a wonderful addition to a breeding farm or someone who just wants a lovely and magnificent Arabian mare to cherish.

        Al Lahab, I have to say, stamped himself on Taliq.  She looks a great deal like him!  Al Lahab is of course, very established as a Champion and is the son of Laheeb and the grandson of Thee Desperado.  I kind of see him with a traditional looking pedigree, and it all blended very well.  Taliq’s dam, Tali Farraar, is a daughter of Ruminaja Ali.  She carries very close lines to The Egyptian Prince and El Hilal as well.

        With all of this rich heritage goodness, I have to say that the price is very reasonable for this mare.  Well worth a closer look, if you’re in the market!

          Jullyens Khnight

          Okay, I REALLY like this gelding, Jullyens Khnight!  I think he picked up all the right traits you could hope for from the sort of pedigree he has.  The 2004 cherry bay has an outstanding body conformation and a particularly amazing croup to hindquarter.  I think you might also notice a handsome set of four white socks he happens to sport, as well.

          Jullyens Khnight is 15hh and has a lot of valuable training established.  He’s finished in Western Pleasure and has training and exposure to trail riding, English and even Jumping. Jullyen’s described as a nice even 4 temperament and rolls with the punches of noise/distraction/chatter.  He is a relaxed horse, polite and well-mannered.

          I simply adore his pedigree: sired by *Jullyen El Jamaal and out of a Khutlass+// daughter.  How brilliant is that?  I definitely see the Khemosabi/Khutlass effect on this gelding’s hip and hindquarter.  This gelding also has P S Tatiana in his lineage; she is one of the many lovely daughters of TW Forteyna and is also the dam of RHA Khnight Ryder.

          The heritage, the training, the conformation and the disposition all spell a great buy with this gelding.  I’m excited to share this find with you all!

              Striking Imperial Imdaal daughter for sale

              Safiyah Gisele

              I try to do my readers justice by finding horses that seem to be priced at a reasonable (if not exceptional) range for the quality of horse.  While the mare I’m about to mention is priced in a range where you may need a loan for her, I think the range is well within reason for her quality.

              Safiyah Gisele is in the prime of life at 9 years of age and has a rather lovely Straight Egyptian body.  When it comes to the Straight Egyptian lines, this mare demonstrates the sort of body type I gravitate towards.  She maintains excellent hock and knee sets on her  legs, has an exceptionally deep girth and chest, and her back is very short.  Her neck is a bit shorter, but I actually like it, as I think her neck ratio fits her “tight body” well.  She is her sire’s daughter, there is no doubt (from head to hoof).

              Here’s where I think her price really does stand out in “deal”.  She is a direct daughter of Imperial Imdal.  While he is alive and kicking (and I’m very happy he is, hope he keeps on trucking), he’s an 80s child (1982), and therefore, getting direct sons and daughters is not going to be as easy in the relatively near future.  Not only that, but he is a pretty well established icon of Straight Egyptian breeding, filled with high esteemed Ansata blood and very close ties to *Morafic.  Gisele’s rich heritage is only bolstered through her dam, Dehnaa.  Dehnaa is a direct Anaza El Farid daughter as well as a granddaughter of The Minstril.

              And while Gisele is a gorgeous grey, she has some gorgeous representatives in her pedigree that could encourage some lovely deep mahogany red bays if you were to get particularly strategic in your stallion prospects.  I digress.

              If you do your own Google search for this mare, you will find other photos of her and even notice that this mare got a satisfactory 3rd place in “World Class Mares 8 & 9 Year Olds”, so she has the credentials.

              Seriously, for any reader who is giving heartfelt consideration into investing in a solid Straight Egyptian mare, I enthusiastically point your attention to this fine mare, Safiyah Gisele.

                Handsome bay gelding for sale

                Gunnar is a 2006 bay gelding with dashing good looks and a nice body conformation.  The 14.3hh Padrons Mahogany son is robust, has great movement and has some professional training established.

                I think he’s at a great age to pursue finishing him and/or getting ample trail experience as he’d probably be an ideal mount for youth or petite amateur riders.  His pedigree is filled with older lines with a broad spectrum of terrific representatives.  I should point out that his ad mentions he is registered, but his number is pending.  He’s not listed in ArabDataSource, so I would just make sure to get that information from the seller and the Registry.

                He’s by the late Padrons Mahogany, a gorgeous dark son of *Padron with lines to Hal Thats Amore, G-Amigo, and older American breeding.  Gunnar is out of Joy Rhapsody, a mare with plenty of older lineage including JA Magnificat++, Bey Shah, *Darrag, Amurath Bandolero+ and El Hilal.

                With a rich heritage, a great temperament, and some good training, I think Gunnar is worth a closer look!

                  Aristocrat mare for sale

                  I was perusing through ads and while most of them didn’t strike me as interesting enough to write about, this ad did.  The mare’s lone head-shot was enough for me to inquire further.

                  Solada is a 13 year old grey mare with a lovely classic head; perfect ears, expressive feminine eyes, petite face frame, sweet little muzzle and most importantly, she’s instantly recognizable as an Arabian.

                  Now, there isn’t much more to see (though I’m sure that the seller has more photos if you inquire), but this mare has better than photos.  She has a record for being an Aristocrat mare.  This means she has produced at least 4 champions.

                  Her pedigree is a force to be reckoned with and certainly is no surprise to me that she would bring such quality to the table when bred to various stallions.  She is a direct Solstice daughter and is out of Uptown Gal.  Uptown Gal is part of a winning legacy of lines from Alada Baskin (Reserve U.S. National Champion Stallion), and Zihala, the dam of Never Again and Khatar Firesember (dam of Legacy of Gold).

                  There’s no way you can go wrong with this pedigree and Solada proves that with her Aristocrat status.  Being that she is offered for under 4k, I would seriously encourage you to whisk this mare up quickly.  She’s one of the really good ones!
