Double *Padron Mare for Sale

AK Glamour Girl

Here is a fine mare available for purchase!  AK Glamour Girl is a 1995 bay mare with a sweet-as-honey disposition and a head that will command a double take.

From the footage on her Youtube Video, Glamour Girl looks just as lovely in her conformation; sporting a beautiful feminine long neck, excellent smooth top line with short back and flat croup, good looking legs and ideal angles on her shoulder and hip.

If you’re curious about her ability to produce foals at her current age, the ad mentions that she is currently in foal to a cremello Saddlebred for a 2012 foal.  This is great news if you are interested in her as a broodmare!

AK Glamour Girl’s pedigree is certainly a fine study in Arabian breeding.  Whoever did breed her took too the theory of “The sire’s sire is the dam’s grandsire on the sire line.”  Glamour Girl’s sire is Belshazzer; a direct *Padron son out of a Polish mare who links back to Celebes and Port Bask.

Glamour Girl’s dam is by Diamond Padron, a *Padron son out of line-bred Serafix/Fadjur mare.  There’s also some great vintage lines and a link to Hal Gazal as well.  Beautiful.

This is another one of those mares I’d snatch up in a heartbeat.  She’s a treasure!

An Exciting Buy at SHN Payback Program!

    JS Padronov

    JS Padronov

I was doing another comb-through of the stallions listed on the SHN Payback program stud roster, when I came across an opportunity that I had to share with you.

JS Padronov is a grey 1982 stallion with an SHN Payback opportunity!  The reason why this is so important to share with you is because his book is closed to the public.  This means that if you purchase the breeding, you have an extremely unique possibility to breed your mare to a gorgeous *Padron son.

This stallion is reminiscent of his sire, except in a elegant shimmering flea-bitten grey coloring.  What I love about his particular lineage is that his dam is a special blend of Babson with a touch of *Raffles.  The blend really boosts the traits in Padron that are coming from his dam’s side.

Padronov has been winner of Most Classic Head and Most Classic Arabian.  Judging by his photos, it’s easy to see that he is indeed a beautiful horse, resembling *Padron in the head and neck, also displaying beautiful legs and strong put-together.

He has sired accomplished Arabian and Half-Arabian sons and daughters; particularly in the Sport Horse divisions.  He is Breeders Sweepstakes Nominated and SCID Clear.

Don’t miss out on this special occasion!  Snatch this breeding up while you still can!

See his SHN Payback listing here: http://shnpayback.org/stallions/js_padronov.xml

Pedigree Reputation – Does it alter your view of a horse?

      Pedigree

Do you have a favorite bloodline?  If you found a son or daughter of your favorite stallion or mare, would you automatically adore that horse or would you put them under the quality check list?

Sometimes when I review sales ads, I’ll notice that a horse is being touted as a direct son or daughter of a famous sire or dam.  In those cases, more times than not, the horse being sold has very few photographs, or the photographs provided do not show much of the horse being listed.

I wonder if the reason for this is because the seller is riding on the famous pedigree; or perhaps the seller doesn’t have to put forth much effort because buyers are eager and aggressive about purchasing the horse with such a famous heritage.

While I do not have a problem with any of that, I do have a curiosity about it.  Do people put too much presumptive value into a horse just because of their immediate and star-studded heritage?

This leads to a highly controversial position about horse shows.  Should the name of the horse and the sire and dam be withheld from the judge’s prior to them making a decision?  Why or why not?

I’m looking forward to your thoughts and feedback!

Beautiful Pure Polish Mare, Double *Zbrucz

          KF Savandra

Are you on the hunt for a Pure Polish mare with some wonderful outcross potential to say, *Monogramm, Kordelas, *Penitent or anything that has recently come out of Poland?  I think I may have found your girl!

KF Savandra is a 2002 bay Pure Polish mare with an exceptional conformation and build.  The first quality that popped off of the screen for me was her dynamite topline.  The mare has a super smooth top line, good wither, short back, flat croup and strong hind quarter.  I’m loving her legs from what I can see, and her neck looks long, her head is definitely Arabian but on the milder side of typey; a trait many will appreciate.

The ad mentions that Savandra came from an English breeding program.  Regardless, I think she has potential to go places as a performance horse (though she has not been broken in yet).  Many may source her as a broodmare, anyway.

Her lineage is gorgeous if you ask me.  Her sire is VF Vanguard, a Ventura Farms bred son of *Wisdom and also tracing back to Traditio and Fortel.  Savandra’s dam is Cometzdarlin, the double *Zbrucz granddaughter.

All in all, I am convinced this mare is a very smart buy and is offered at an affordable price.

Dark Bay Knock-out of a Mare for Sale

            Noctura El Farah

Wow folks, I got a fun surprise and treat while reviewing ad listings today.  Here is a fine, fine mare available for a terrific and affordable price.  Noctura El Farah is a 2005 dark bay (almost black except for some subtle bay points, which is one of my personal favorite kinds of “black”), and a mare that exhibits some awesome breeding techniques.  It is no wonder she is so beautiful.

Farah is, based on the couple of photographs provided, very upright, proud, expressive and has a quality about her that is evident even upon first glance.  She looks balanced, has a beautiful top line, strong legs, 45 degree shoulder and from her other photo, I see evidence of a superb hip and hind quarter.  Farah has a beautiful big eye, typey but subtle shaped head and a neck that can really stretch when she wants it to!

The breeder of this mare definitely has an artistic streak in their blood!  They weave the horses like a delicate and strong stitching.  Farah’s sire is Noctura Cintar, a stallion who his heavily line-bred to Ibn Royal Zaltar, and while I can’t find a photograph of him, I noticed while searching for him that he happens to be in a lot of pedigrees of exceptionally beautiful horses.  That tells me something.  Also through Farah’s sire, we find Fadjur!

Farah’s dam, Amahri, delivers some more outstanding horses.  Amahri is the daughter of Ibn El Mareekh, a Straight Egyptian stallion that is particularly exotic.  You’ll also find the Hadban Enzahi son, *Mameluck and the Straight Egyptian, Tuhotmos through her dam’s side.

A mare like her excites me because she is beautiful and well-built.  When you factor in her unique heritage and that fact that she can provide high quality outcross bloodlines, she makes for a dream mare in my book.

Farah has had a year of professional training and can be ridden English or Western.  She is described as loveable and sweet.

                Imdahlia – Imperial Imdal Daughter

                Imdahlia

I was checking out an entirely different mare on a website when this mare distracted me.  Imdahlia is a 1994 grey mare with a sweet disposition and a beautiful  over all form.  She is Egyptian Sired by the famous Straight Egyptian, Imperial Imdal.

Imdahlia is feminine, exhibits correct conformation, decent girth depth, good top line, great cannon bone length on her legs, wonderful collected but flashy expression and above all, a gentle demeanor.  You will see all of these attributes when you watch the video of her.

Speaking of the video, I would highly recommend that you never let your child do what the one in this video does.  While it may show how sweet-tempered Imdahlia is, it’s not a good practice in general.  I am not a big advocate of running around, chasing your Arabian senselessly.  They deserve better.

Imdahlia’s heritage is also rich through her dam, Nasue.  Nasue is a Salon grand daughter with close lines to Priboj, Nabor, and the Raffles son, Aaraf.  A well rounded mare.

If this mare appeals to you, I would recommend offering a bit less than the asking price regardless of who her sire is, due to the mare’s age.  A vet check on her reproductive system is also a must.

Need your opinion on this Half-Arabian

                  KH Starbrite

One of Arabian Glimmer’s dear readers, Sonia, surprised me with a message about a mare for sale; she was hoping to get some extra eyes and feedback.  The mare is half Arabian and half Trakehner.  Her name is KH Starbrite, a 2004 bay with a lovely set of four white socks and a pretty bay coloring.

Sonia’s friend is interested in purchasing this mare as a Dressage horse.  The ad mentions that Starbrite is the daughter of TF Peron’s Brilliance, the only approved son of Peron (the Olympic Dressage stallion), by the Trakehner Association.  Starbrite’s dam is Arabian, mentioned in the ad as “classically bred Arabian Foundation Mare”.  I am not familiar with any of the horses listed in her pedigree.

Starbrite is listed as trained in Dressage, and has been shown successfully.  She’s listed as a 6 out of 10 temperament and has the basics down.

What are your opinions of the mare?  Does she seem to match her price?

Yet Another Chestnut Afire Bey V Daughter

                    HF Spring Air

For just a moment, I thought I was looking at the same mare, but when I re-checked my blog post for Forever Ember SW, I confirmed that my new discovery is a different mare!  How exciting!!

So here is HF Spring Air, a 1995 chestnut mare with four white socks and blaze; daughter of Afire Bey V, too!  In just the one photo provided of this mare, I am certain that she is a winner in every way.  Spring Air is feminine, extremely well balanced, exhibits solid legs, strong muscling throughout her body, and has a gorgeous head to match.

In and of herself she is exceptional and should be whisked away immediately to her new home, wherever that will be.  However, in my little fantasy world, I am seeing her purchased along with the other chestnut Afire Bey V daughter (with four white socks and blaze) for a super rare opportunity to have two matching beauties!  Can you imagine how awesome that would be?

Spring Air is out of a Barbary daughter and out of an *Eter daughter to boot!  That is an especially impressive performance powerhouse of genetics.

Be sure to see her ad listing for more details: http://arabianhorses.org/marketplace/Classified/pas_detail.asp?id=58459
