There are many, MANY fine sons and daughters of Fame VF, but one particular darkly clad stallion makes the top of the list and he is Starof Fame V+/. Starof Fame V has my favorite kind of “black” coat in that he isn’t actually a registered black horse; he’s technically bay, but he appears black with subtle bay points.
The multi-National winner and Regional Champion sports a gorgeous body conformation with a long and strong neck, nice laid back shoulder, super short back (due to a very high set wither bone), and a super flat croup. He has a handsome Arabian head without the extreme type; which many breeders out there want to see.
Starof Fame V+/ is a sire of sons and daughters who are no stranger to the champion title at National and Regional shows across the country. They have excelled in Halter, Western, Sidesaddle, and Hunter.
His pedigree is exceptional with famous and accomplished Arabians jam packed into 4 generations. First you have Fame VF, a Bey Shah son out of a Raffon and Gamaar mare. Then you have Starof Fame V’s dam, Sweet Illusion V, a Huckleberry Bey daughter out of a *Bask daughter and a Khemosabi granddaughter. Like I said, great after great after super great all enforcing this stallion to the brim.
With all of that said, Starof Fame V+/ remains a relevant and highly beneficial stallion to continue to source now and for years to come. Next time you’re in the market to source many of the great Polish-leaning American legends, keep this Arabian hero in mind!

Black, Fame VF, Varian blood, Khemo, and siring performance champions!!! I’m hooked!!! He most likely has the ability to produce black if crossed to a homozygous/heterozygous mare. This is one horse who you would expect to make a mark on the world! And he certaintly has!!!
I was disappointed to see a $2,000 stud fee. Once you’ve paid collection, shipping, and insemination fees, you’re looking at a $3,000 investment, not including the mare care for a year. Ouch!
In this market, it’s unlikely I could get $4,000 for a colt by this stallion. I’d probably be lucky to get $1,500 because Fame VF sons and grandsons are readily available anywhere you look.
But from a romantic, yummy pedigree, I have an unlimited budget standpoint–he’d make me drool!
On another note, I really like the straight Egyptians you’ve featured recently. If all goes well, I’ll have my own SE surprise this spring.
I was going to say the same thing but just thought that I was making a fuss over nothing. Still he is a beautiful horse!!
Congrats on your SE surprise! Trust me, you won’t be dissapointed!
Stoked about your Straight Egyptian surprise! You have me pondering the possibilities now!
I know what you mean on the stud fee, but sometimes I wonder if it’s possible that you’re buying into some support from his “circle” if you will. I can’t really back that theory up but it seems like it’s possible that one stallions stud fee may include an inner-circle passage. What do you think?
